Pretty cool, I must say.
But here's the reason I titled these posts "Dose of reality." All this is really awesome, but according to the body mass index (BMI) chart, I am still obese. Let's not think about what I was at my heaviest, but it is sobering to know that even after having lost over 21 pounds, I am not even just overweight but obese.
To get myself down into the range of normal healthy weight, I have at least another 50 pounds to drop. Now you tell me, can you picture the form you see above minus 50 pounds MORE? I'll admit, it boggles my mind, and I'll say in my defense that perhaps there are some things outside the limits of a chart, but I am willing to consider that it just might be accurate... even for me, self-proclaimed "large frame","more muscle-- and you know muscle weighs more than fat" person.
Not that my goal has anything much to do with a number, not one of pounds on the scale, or waist circumference, or BMI. I want to be healthy. I want to have as much energy as is naturally possible for someone of my age and lifestyle, because after all, not only do I have to keep up with parenting these eight children plus any more the Lord might wish to send... unless Christ returns first, I will likely in ten to fifteen years be needing the energy to play with grandchildren as well as the children we will still be raising at that time.
Thanks be to God for the opportunity to make that happen. And I pray for that to continue!
p.s. stay tuned, as I still have three weeks to go of the twelve! Not to speak of the fact that it's been an unusually long break since giving birth... a whopping nearly 13 months!!

Look at you go!
Cheers from these parts! :)
Pam, I am really, really happy that you're feeling happy. :)
BMI is junk anyway. :D

Good stuff! It's great to hear you feeling so well :)
Pam...you are looking great. :)
I am wondering - are you feeling better? I read back through your blog a little (and we had also talked awhile ago) about the hypo-hyper thyroid issues and how you felt on a daily basis. I can so relate - because how you described feeling is the same way I feel...all of the time. I'm so tired of it! I am exercising...not doing so great on the healthy eating, though....
So, I'm just wondering if the exercise/diet is really helping with how you feel?
Thank you, thank you gals! It feels so good to feel happy!
YES, I am feeling better. I almost can't believe it, since feeling rotten was normal for so long. The "good days" were so few and far between, and I would lament, "Oh, if only this could be my normal!"
I can't say that my normal is like a good day most of the time *yet* (if that makes sense), but it is certainly on the way there. I will have the usual pregnancy fatigue, et al as well.
Right now my TSH is 0.5ish, and while my NP said that was still great (she knows the hypo trouble I've had), I am going to check with her again in light of this new baby. I really really don't want another miscarriage, and that's partly what concerns me.
I highly recommend the Fit Homeschool Moms free website, as well as the $30 12 week transformation. It has gotten me to where I can now have the healthiest fittest pregnancy ever.
Yay!!
And Holly, it's great to have you here! :oD
Oh, and p.s...
I have a neck again!
I have a bum-- with a shape!! ;o)
This is too cool for words!!
